We are the first environmental platform to encourage the use of reusable containers through a sharing economy, along with rewarding Members for reducing their carbon footprint. All of this works through Bitwastes, an EcoCoin that accumulates in the Member’s personal account, as the Member prefers to use the Reusable Container System, and which also allows them to make donations to EcoProjects, and increase the amount of your EcoSavings.

The virtual EcoCoin grows with the ecological commitment of the Member. Each use of U-FOOD containers that is registered in the REUSE platform helps to add Bitwastes to the Member’s personal account, so that the Member can save and donate to different ecological causes published on our platform.

The Member's account is generated automatically once they are enrolled in REUSE platform, and there is no maintenance cost as long as they are up to date with their membership or continue to belong to the company that gave them the EcoBenefit.

Every six calendar months, from the moment the Member begins to accumulate Bitwastes in his account, he can decide whether or not to withdraw his EcoSaving converted into local money. The Bitwastes in the Member’s account do not expire, and the Member must comply with making a monthly donation with the EcoCoin to any of the EcoProjects published on our platform.

Through an open call in the municipalities, companies and organizations that have an ongoing environmental project with an impact at the community level are invited to apply, and thus a committee of experts decides if they can be part of our portfolio of projects, to that can receive donations from Bitwastes, either from a Member with membership or one as a guest.

The EcoProjects that are available to receive donations are published in the REUSE platform.

The eatery can join our Reusable Container System at a low cost, and can use U-FOOD containers as many times as necessary.

As we understand that eateries need additional motivation, we help them reduce one of the costs that directly impact their profits. Through our collaborative model they can reduce or replace the purchase of disposable containers, saving significantly for this concept.

It does not matter if the business has its own reusable containers, the most important thing is that they have a printed QR code to be able to integrate the containers into our system.

Every year around 100,000 disposable food and drink containers can be avoided from being thrown away in an office with only 50 employees!

Companies with commitment and ecological awareness can grant this benefit to their employees, and thus empower them to be committed to the environment. In addition, they can obtain statistics that help demonstrate positive environmental impact and complete their ESG report, thus improving investor transparency and inspiring other companies to do the same.

The containers can be returned without the need to be washed previously, in any of the businesses associated with REUSE platform and that have a collection box enabled. Also, the Member can schedule the container pick-up service at her address, by sending a pick-up request through the REUSE platform.

Culture and beliefs are some of the challenges we face, as some people feel that reusable containers are less hygienic than disposable containers, and to avoid this apprehension, all U-FOOD containers are washed and sanitized by us, in order to ensure adequate cleaning and sanitization in accordance with current legislation and the manuals on cleaning and sanitizing activities that must be carried out on crockery and minor utensils.

Only 8% of single-use containers is recycled, and the rest is thrown away.
